Past Marathons
1. Resistance Series Marathon
The Resistance Series was the 1st marathon for the Bishopbriggs Gamers. It took place on the 27th September 2009 on www.justin.tv/bishopbriggsgamers and lasted 24 hours. Matt, Chrissy, Gerard and Paul were the gamers who took part. From 1pm to 10pm, the BGamers worked through Resistance: Fall of Man. They had no problems with the game as all 4 are familiar with the Resistance Series. After Fall of Man was completed, Paul had to leave meaning Matt, Chrissy and Gerard had to work through Resistance 2. They played through the game fighting tiredness. Eventually, Chrissy completed the game at 7am meaning the BGamers had completed the Resistance Series in 17 hours. There were many highlights at this marathon such as the Dalek, "Bob" the Chimera looking for a partner and Matt's fly being undone! We had between 30-50 viewers at one point which was a massive success for the Bishopbriggs Gamers.
2. Metal Gear Solid Marathon
Metal Gear Solid was the 2nd marathon for the Bishopbriggs Gamers. It took place on the 13th October 2009 on www.justin.tv/bishopbriggsgamers and lasted 48 hours. Matt, Chrissy, Gerard, Paul, Ruari, Morland were the gamers who took part along with help from their friend, Andrew. From 1pm to 11pm, the BGamers played through Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with little problems apart from the fight with The Boss. Paul, Ruari and Morland had to leave after MGS3 and Andrew arrived. From 11pm to 9am, the BGamers played through Metal Gear Solid 1 and began to get sleepy. Ruari arrived for the beginning of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty at 9am which was then finished at 7pm. Unfortunately, all the BGamers had to go home leaving Matt who had no sleep the night before to play Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots which he finished at 5am. This means the BGamers finished the Metal Gear Solid games in 40 hours. Justin TV decided to award our channel with "Producer" status meaning the marathon was promoted on the site meaning we had between 30-350 viewers. There were many highlights at this marathon such as Andrew's beautican Cock Wan, Gerard trying to beat Ocelot in MGS1 and Captain Tom! This marathon was another huge success for the Bishopbriggs Gamers and we gained a fanbase.
3. Modern Warfare Mini-Marathon
The Modern Warfare series was the 3rd marathon for the Bishopbriggs Gamers. It took place on the 17th December 2009 on www.justin.tv/bishopbriggsgamers and lasted 10 hours. Matt and Chrissy were the gamers who took part. From 9am to 2pm, Matt played through Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare while Chrissy sat a Biology exam. He had little problems playing through the game except from the mission "No Fighting in the War Room". After CoD4 was completed,
Matt sprinted round to Chrissy's house so he could begin Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which he finished at 6pm. This was a mini-marathon meaning it was not a long marathon such as MGS or Resistance. The BGamers finished the Modern Warfare Series in 9 hours which was excellent. The highlights at this marathon were Matt's fail at Noobtubing, Roach teabagging a sex doll and falling from the top of the Favela. Overall, this was another success for the Bishopbriggs Gamers with viewers reaching 50 at one point.
4. Metal Gear Solid Marathon for Haiti
Metal Gear Solid for Haiti was the 4th marathon for the Bishopbriggs Gamers. It took place on the 14th February 2010 on www.justin.tv/bishopbriggsgamers and lasted 48 hours. Matt, Chrissy, Gerard, Mark and Morland were the gamers who took part. From 6pm to 1am, Matt and Gerard played through Metal Gear Solid 1 with Chrissy who had to leave at 10pm. From 1am to 1:25pm, Gerard along with Chrissy played through Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty which they had very little problems with except from Fatman and the Metal Gear Ray fight. Gerard went home for some well-deserved sleep after Metal Gear Solid 2 leaving Matt and Chrissy to start Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater at 1:25pm. During the game, Mark and Morland arrived. They finished the game at 10:27pm with relative ease. From 10:27pm to 12:54pm, Chrissy, Matt and Mark played through Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. They had very little problems apart from fighting off sleep and Raging Raven. Overall, the marathon was a huge success with £65 being raised for Haiti which is good. The number of viewers was incredible never dropping below 100 and they were very supportive of us. There were many highlights at this marathon including sniping The End, Gerard failing at Fatman, Gerard waking up and speaking gibberish, Chrissy failing at Raging Raven and so much more. In conclusion, this was probably the best Bishobpriggs Gamers marathon ever and it couldn't have been a huge success without the viewers who we thank deeply. 2010 is looking bright indeed!
